A Falcon 10 did go off the runway (33) at approx 1506 Local time today. Both Captain and F/O were uninjured. It came to rest just north of taxiway BA, east of taxiway B and south of runway 03 - 21. A few of my colleagues and I witnessed the incident but won't say what we saw in fear of speculation. However, I will say the gear was down and it did touch down on 33, not the taxiway as some media sources are reporting.

Looks like Skycharter's Falcon 10 from Pearson.

The YYZ - YKZ flights are very short, with a very high workload. Absolutely no idea if that's relevant in this case - I wasn't there.

We almost had crash at Buttonville on Saturday the 18th as well... A 172 pulled onto an active runway (after reading back the hold short) while a mooney was on the takeoff roll. Tower yelled out a few choice words, and bascially shut down the airport for 10 min not allowing anyone to talk on the frequeny.

Luckily the mooney had only just started thetakeoff roll and was able to stop safely

The CADORS are out here's the description

Narrative:

The Skycharter Limited Dassault Falcon 10 aircraft (C-GRIS, operating as flight SKL101) was concluding an IFR positioning flight from Toronto (LBPIA) (CYYZ) to Toronto (Buttonville) Municipal Airport (CYKZ). NAV CANADA staff at Buttonville Tower reported that the aircraft touched down hard and bounced into the grass east of the runway. Runway 33 was closed for 15 minutes. Ops. impact -- unknown.

Narrative:

UPDATE Supplemental information received from T.S.B. Daily Notification [#A11O0098]: The Skycharter Ltd. Dassault Falcon 10 (C-GRIS) was landing on runway 33 at Buttonville. The aircraft touched down to the right of the runway centerline and exited the runway on to the grass infield. The aircraft entered the adjacent taxiway before again exiting on to the grass where it struck a runway sign before coming to a stop. The aircraft was substantially damaged but no injuries were sustained by the two crew members. There was no fire and no evidence that the integrity of the wing fuel tanks was compromised

Recounting events that you witnessed isn't speculation. Commenting opinion on why something happened is speculation, Daniel.

It reads as if he doesn't want to give his witness account on the fear that others will speculate what happened based on his observations.

No follow-up was ever made with the report, so I thought I would read it.

The best thing that the crew could have done was prepare as much as possible for the landing before even taking off. We used to do that on a 15 minute jet flight. Brief the likely approach before takeoff. In addition, they could have simply flow at around 200 knots(maybe don't even fully retract the flaps. The also could have aske for vectors to a 5 mile final or overhead for a visual approach.

Climbing to 4000' and accelerating to near 290 knots and accepting a tight left base was guaranteed to create a bad situation,
