I am just wondering if anyone is currently in the hiring pool.

Has there been any word on the August ground school yet?

I am just very curious as to what is up with the latest hiring...

Feel free to PM me if you like. :?

Management said they are planning for a new-hire ground school in August, while not 100%, there will be one in August or Sept.

Thank you very much!

They seem to be very tight-lipped and not fourth-coming on information or responding to communication. :?

Tough situation when you have several offers on the table and trying to make the best career choice.

There is not a plan for a ground school in September at this time.
Attrition has slowed but will likely increase again in late summer or fall.

I guess the bond has helped.

Depends on how you look at it though...

There's only two people on a bond and they just started groundschool, so no, the bond hasn't done anything yet. Jazz stopped hiring so that's affected attrition at GGN a bit. Pilots are still leaving, but they're not replacing them as quickly as they are leaving.

The tests were very detailed. Not the kind of stuff you can study for. Some questions from ATPL Exams and some long hand math questions were only things you can prepare for. The rest of it is just 2.5 Hours of random testing and psych questions that will build a profile of you.

Anyone who is qualified to be apply for a position with Air Georgian should not have any problems.

They want 1500hrs, also whats your PIC time at? They like to see decent PIC so you can upgrade as that can happen quickly. Lastly two crew time is helpful there but looks like you have some so thats a plus...you should apply and odds are once you hit 1500hrs you'll have a decent chance of getting an interview.

Agreed, people leaving within a couple months of getting a PPC is exactly why we have bonds, if we stayed at each company for 9 months to a year you wouldn't see as many bonds...and once theres a higher demand than the supply of pilots...but that is a folk tale, one that the media continues to try and convince us will happen

I totally agree with you when it comes to the folk tale... I don't believe in that big shortage of pilots in canada.... But I disagree with the bond comment.... True if guys stayed and were more loyal there wouldn't be any bonds... But if employers treated their pilots with more respect on the lower levels, and didn't expect pilots to just move on, guys would want to be more loyal... Unfortunately a vicious cycle....

There aren't many companies left now that have the confidence of not giving bonds to their pilots, because they know they treat them well and guys will stay....

Ya you're right. It's ridiculous to charge a bond when it costs the company 8-10G to train you at Flight Safety. If the company has 6 candidates in each course, that's up to $48-60,000 in simulator training alone..per month.

Give your head a shake
