Cargojet Airways
Just wondering if its going to be the same BS with this company only taking their S/O's from Seneca or have they initiated calling people from other educational backgrounds. Heard much mixed reviews in regards to this. Lets wait and see

Congratulations, you finished first in your class with excellent flight tests, as well as written exams. To celebrate your newly found skills we are awarding you a back seat position, we believe that watching other pilots fly for several years prepares you in the best possible way.
I'm not in the know when it comes to those programs, but I'm lead to believe this is how they work?

Well, considering everything is rolling now, I wouldn't be surprised if upgrades are relatively short; compared to the long minimum-two-year-or-plus waits in the pre-2011/2012 era. And if the F/O trend of just remaining 7 to 8 months is maintained, that just adds to the wait times getting shorter. Some individuals hate this path, some praise it, to say the least; Cargojet has rarely posted recruitment offers.

Ahh, interesting. If jets is what you want then 7-8 months for a right seat spot is pretty snazzy if I do say so myself. Well best of luck.

The job posting says no commuting allowed and you must live within 80km of Hamilton. That kinda narrows down their prospective applicants a bit!

Hold on, lets not get too excited without the facts.
While Cargojet definitely went through a Seneca phase, the previous six second officers hired in February were not from Seneca.Sky_Conqueror wrote:Just wondering if its going to be the same BS with this company only taking their S/O's from Seneca or have they initiated calling people from other educational backgrounds.
Upgrade timing has varied with industry movement and expansion. Second Officers hired in early 2011 upgraded in approximately 15 months, while those in the latter half of 2011 will be closer to 24.Prairiefire wrote:If jets is what you want then 7-8 months for a right seat spot is pretty snazzy if I do say so myself.

How is morale these days? Looking back on previous posts it looked pretty bleak, have things turned around at all? PM if desired, thanks for any info.
