Do you work at Missinippi? Based on your location I'm assuming that's where you are....

Networking and timing gets you a foot in the door for an interview. Personality counts for way more than your TT.NickyNick wrote:Why do I have to spend a lot more time in left seat 703/704 ops than most ?
Simply put, interviewers are trying to find out the answer to this question:
"Can I trust this person, with an aircraft, to fly clientele/cargo in safe and efficient environnement?"
Just because a person meets the minimum flying requirements for the job, it doesn't mean that the job is automatically theirs!

Re: Air Georgian
Every job I've ever had in and outside of aviation has come about by networking and selling myself as the right person for the job. Not once was experience a factor. Virtually every job I've had before flying I was under qualified for when starting. Yet I was still hired.
Re: Air Georgian
I don't use people to get ahead, appears many of you do and that is just morally wrong. I have never had to do that to get jobs I've had in past or my current job, I shouldn't have to either for a 705 FO position.

Re: Air Georgian
Networking and using people are not the same thing. The fact you think that says a lot.
Attention future employers, if a guy named Nick with 3900 hours on a King Air 200 applies... Well, if you're reading this I'm sure you've read this thread.

I'm not to jump to any conclusions as to whether or not you are indeed a figment of your own imagination, but no matter how you slice it, something just don't add up here.
If you in fact ARE a real life pirate, I feel bad for the negativity you've garnered, especially since you actually haven't been overtly aggressive or rude like many other keyboard pounders are. But I question your motives. I also wonder why you think that everyone shares a unanimous opinion of you?
I'm curious as to whether you've taken any REAL steps besides trolling people? Have you contacted anyone that would require you to pay good money for good results? What about XSBank? He gets proven results going over resumes. Same with PCC, though they charge a lot.
Why don't you post your resume in the "Hire Me" section? Again, if you're a real grown up boy then you should be able to shut people up and possibly humble yourself to some real creative suggestions. Go ahead, dare ya. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. What have you got to lose?
Truly, best of luck either way, in cleaning your room or flying a BE20.

So glad you have said I haven't been rude. I can take a lot of heat. I'm as genuine as you get. I have not shot off any derogatory to those that have been bashing me left and right.
I contacted XSBank.
I fairly certain the airlines aren't looking on "hire me".
Re: Air Georgian
How do you know? Shows you don't really understand networking. You never know who you'll meet next and if you've already met them.NickyNick wrote: I fairly certain the airlines aren't looking on "hire me".
It's as much a helpful suggestion as a challenge to you- it still stands.
Re: Air Georgian
I wouldn't be surprised if DaveP or AirSprintHR or several of the other high ups browse the "hire me" section on occasion. Granted you won't get an offer over avcanada for Westjet (I assume), but don't be surprised if what you post on here helps/hinders you in an interview.

What is your definition of networking? And how about morality, exploitation, and manipulation?
Just trying to gauge what your perspective is.

They all involve using people to get ahead just for your own interests.

No. Networking is building a "network" of people in your industry. It goes both ways. For example I found my current job through an old pilot friend from school. Didn't hang out much but we knew each other. He knew I was looking for work and pointed me in the right direction. Now in the future if I ever happen to know of something available that he is qualified I will let him know and throw a word in if I can. That's a form of using your network.
"Using" people to get ahead is just that. Using people. And people can see right through if you are just trying to use them to get ahead without any thought towards a business relationship with that person.
I'm surprised that with 3900 hours and years in the industry, you haven't met a few people who know where there is a job that you might be qualified for and can give you a recommendation. My guess is you've burned all your bridges and/or never had any friends in the industry.

That is incredibly naive of you.NickyNick wrote:I fairly certain the airlines aren't looking on "hire me".
If you have been experiencing difficulty finding a job up to this point, I can guarantee you just blacklisted yourself everywhere else. Why?
1. You are entitled.
2. You are not informed.NickyNick wrote:I'm sure I'm well qualified for that position and a sure job offer, still nothing.
3. You do not understand hiring processes.NickyNick wrote:(Networking) involve(s) using people to get ahead just for your own interests.
Above all, your AvCanada posts show an extreme lack of judgement. You say you have difficulty finding a job and you post identifying information about yourself on a public forum. Then you converse arrogantly with fellow aviation professionals, disrespect their opinions, ignore their advice and demonstrate qualities that market you as a poor candidate for hire.NickyNick wrote:That's not listed, please refer me to the "real" requirements. Wish companies would post the "real" requirements.
You have revealed enough about yourself that any person in charge of hiring would recognize your resume and shred it immediately.
If you genuinely are not a troll I have one piece of advice for you: Delete all of your posts, retire this account and hope that you have not just ruined your chances of getting hired at an airline.

How have I ruined my chances? I'm asking questions as to why with my time on BE20 isn't good enough for airline. Wish airlines would post what exactly they want new hires to have. I meet all posted requirements.
Re: Air Georgian
About 3 and a half years ago the airlines sent out a MEMO that BE20 time no longer counts. Didn't you get that Nicky?NickyNick wrote:aerie wrote:That is incredibly naive of you.NickyNick wrote:I fairly certain the airlines aren't looking on "hire me".
