Any info on the Voyageur rotation? I'm an NG captain looking for something different and preferably in Africa. Is the 8 weeks out free from duty? What is the pay like?
Re: Voyageur Ad
Training and travel are during your 8 weeks off. Pay is 36k for F/O, comparable for capt in the 60k range can't remember offhand, but nothing spectacular. I pay is 135% when you're overseas plus accommodation and per dime. They want cash for training.

Yep. It's true. They want $15k cash instead, held in trust. Info current as of this year.kilocharliemike wrote:Ancient wrote:I've heard no bonds anymore.

Must be very new, then. I was told straight from the horses mouth two months ago.

Voyager was one of the best jobs I ever had, and was never asked to pay a training bond etc.
The posts "appear" to confirm that it remains that way.
Perhaps someone with current can post ?

Re: Voyageur Ad
Any chance they'd go for a 4 week on 4 week off schedule?
Re: Voyageur Ad
They are desperate for people right now.
If you have some hours you can be upgraded left seat on the Dash within a year.

Re: Voyageur Ad
That's super awesome news if there is no longer a bond at Voyageur. Is this confirmed?
Also, does anyone know if there are plans for Voyageur to go back to Afghanistan at some point?

Re: Voyageur Ad
Pretty sure the Afghanistan gravy train is long over, only UN Africa contracts remain...heard the new owners (Chorus) want them to expand the operation beyond the UN stuff and go more international ACMI type work...also they really need to update the pay scale (little changed in past 5-10 yrs) if they want to attract and keep talent interested in this type of work...

Is there any recent info on the pay scale and conditions? Do they hire direct entry captains?

I really enjoyed my time at VAL, but I was in my early 20's and didn't have debt or a family in Canada.
