Yes the wage posted is accurate. We have not increased wages in 3+ years, the posting a couple of months ago was for 4000 + mileage VFR

Current rates
VFR 4000 + Mileage average 60K/year
VFR 5000 + Mileage average 90K/year

This looks like an increase due to pilot demand but in fact we are hiring for a different position requiring a higher skill level, so the wage reflects it.

and yes its YMM but the cost of housing has been dropping since the Oil market fell (we do very little Oil-related flying)

Opps, I didn't forget how to post on avcanada, my computer died and lost my old account so made a new one and am trying to do everything on a 4" iPhone screen which is a pain in the arse. How much is the milage pay now? I actually flew for Wade a few years ago a bit on the 206. Do you guys still have HLI? She was my first turbine gig and probably nicest van I ever flew hope you guys haven't beaten her to death with barrels lol. I'm heading down to YEG to refresh my IFR in a few weeks, might have to head up and pay wade a visit. What sort of IFR experience is required for the PPC gig? Is the IFR stuff 2 crew or single pilot? I have 2 crew DHC-6 time but it was all bush work no IFR.

Its $0.15/sm for the single turbine guys, you could give em a call CP is Tom Greenwood, easier to catch him in the afternoons, but I imagine he's flying a lot right now they just had a big turn over of guys again so I suspect even with out much IFR time they'd be pretty interested if you're looking.

So, your saying salary is 60k/yr, but take home is 90k after milage... $30k in milage then.

Divide by 150sm/hr for the 208

1333 hours per year of flight time per pilot?

1,200 hours in any consecutive 365 days? Is there an exemption that I'm missing?

Thats almost twice as much flight time as I get right now in the twotter for the same pay and YZF is about the same cost of living as YMM.

Unless your counting per diems as pay or something to reach $90k

Side note, I'm 10 and 10 on the -6, but I guess 14/7 is needed to get in so much flight time. Or is it a crap ton of over time?

I think the original ad was either a miscalculation or an attempt to attract more resumes. Or they could be posting averages based on 2nd or 3rd year pay. Macav did say they haven't raised the rates in three years and several months ago the claimed average was $80k for the ifr guys. No overtime or per diem available. You could make $90k in your third year on the job or if you had extra pay for floats or took on some extra responsibilities etc. Summer paychecks are better as you fly more, winter is less miles and more time spent on hanger projects like hanger renovations or washing stuff doing oil changes on equipment shoveling snow etc. which of course is just to get your base monthly salary. Actually hours per year would be about 1000.
