Jazz to Porter?

Post by 7507 »

Hi guys again new to posting here but long time reader.

I've been reading alot about the whole movement from the jazz/sky/georgian to Air Canada movement.

Hence why alot of people aim for the Air canada feeders but I wonder if guys did the opposite and going from Jazz to Porter for the so called better family schedule which has been posted here, OR will Porter turn you down because you worked for the OTHER side!

Just wondering if anyone has done it.

Thanks

Who knows maybe some would move over to Porter (especially if they ever got the C-Series on the property)

If they got the c series I’d probably apply the next day, until then I won’t be applying

Porter generally has shorter days and shorter pairings. Meaning home with the wife/kids more frequently. The username Julie- PorterPRA will tell you all about it if you are genuinely interested.

Correct me if I'm wrong but if you do that you're burned for AC during 5 years.

Come on. What right does BIG RED have to "blacklist" you for 5 years if you move from a "AC" regional? It's not like they own Jazz / Sky or GGN. Does that apply if you leave GGN to go to Jazz, or EVAS to go work at Tim Hortons? (both options, being an upgrade from the previous)

There is a penalty for moving from one express carrier to another in terms of the PML. I'll have to double check the memo, but IIRC it was two years.

I can't fathom many if any leaving jazz for porter. Haven't heard of it happening thus far either. That's not a slight at porter either. The pay and conditions there are good.
