Bluebird class 3

Post by trey kule »

Am I doing the math correctly here?

For a class 3 who puts in 70 hours or less of instruction a month (35 every two weeks or so), gross monthly pay is $700....

For 100 hours of instructing a month.....1350 gross +/- ($13.50 an hour....for instructing...not time put in)

And, of course, the company would never schedule an instructor to just get very close to the 35 hours semi monthlyto keep their hourly costs for an instructor at about $10.
After all, at $13 an hour for a class 3 they can make monry
Promises of time do not pay the bills

Are there really class 3 instructors out there willing to fly 1000 hours a year for less than $13000?

I am guessing that the class 1and 2 are the carrots..

You're not. From the ad:
Base $700 Per Month
$23 Per hour for Flight
$27 Per Hour for every flight hour over 35 hours semi monthly.
$20 Per hour for ground activities

Working 70 flying hours would give you, monthly:
1610 + 700 base = 2310 CAD/month

Still not really great, but not as dramatic as you think

As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

Hopefully not the same ownership/affiliation as the Bluebird from southern Ontario a few years ago.
