ATPL helicopter to Fixed wing employment
Hi,
New to this forum so I apologize if this questions has previously been raised.
I have a ATPL Helicopter, 4000 TT, 3000 in IFR multi engine helicopters, mostly glass cockpit, mostly as Captain.
Currently I am doing to transition licence to airplane (CARAC).
Can anyone give me information if operators / airlines with credit the IF helicopter experience?
Thank you.

Did the transition a few years ago. Similar experience as you, searched for jobs while I was building fixed wing time and not one employer gave me any kind of credit for my helo experience until I had my ATPL(A) in pockets. After that, I was viewed as a 6000TT pilot vs 1000TT. (currently employed in 705 regional)Canukpilot wrote: ↑Mon Aug 20, 2018 8:43 pm Hi,

Short story, it's very frustrating but hang in there, you might have better luck than I did.

I am 705 also
Many adds will specify “fixed wing preferred”
Long road ahead but worth it

If you have the right to work in the US, Horizon Air is taking heli guys with only their conversion FW training to the right seat of the Q400. EFIS and military experience count for a lot.
