A heads up before this gets released to the general public
Here's a little something for those of us that might be interested.
CAE has created a new program for pilots and pilots-to-be....For commercial pilot license (CPL) holders looking for their first airline job or current first officers and captains looking to transition to new equipment or to seek a new job.
http://www.cae.com/cts/PilotIndex.shtml
This site is now operational and from what I understand, it will be marketed to the aviation public very early in the new year.
One other thing for the firefox users, it only works (right now) with internet explorer.
Good luck out there and I wish all my fellow aviators a very happy and safe new year!
Noble Steeds, a great idea!

Looks like they're trying to sell PPC's to suckers that are willing to pay for them. OK, in return they might guarantee you an interview but I'll bet they want your money first.
Thanks but no thanks.

i've searched extensively and i don't think there is one of those "smilies" available to adequately express my anger...
Re: A heads up before this gets released to the general public
I second that statement. When I started reading the 1'st post, I thought we were being warned of this poison coming to Canada. It is rampant in Europe. "Self sponsored employment" they call it (Ryanair & Easyjet come to mind), sounds so nice. Looks like the start of new lows to me....donnybrook wrote:i've searched extensively and i don't think there is one of those "smilies" available to adequately express my anger...

If you check the contact numbers, they ain't in Canada. I think you can relax as it'll be a while before there is any use for it here.
Frankly, I'm beginning to wonder why anyone wants to jump on this bus, the ride isn't very good and its expensive and it may take you to a sh*tty neighbourhood.

Re: A heads up before this gets released to the general public
I havn't realy bother'd to look all that closely at these guys as they have nothing I want. BUT if you look at services...it indicates that they have Canadian facilities in Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, & Moncton. The phone# may not be Canadian, but they seem to be already here. The Most of the facilities mention'd seem to be conect'd to airlines but if you check out moncton they say that they are afiliated with Moncton Flight College (MFC) Here's the info about the MPL you can get with MFC & CAE http://www.cae.com/cts/PDF/CAEGlobalAcademy_MFC.pdf
CAE provides a standardized MPL curriculum and
courseware, flight training devices and course materials,
while Global Academy partners provide the ab-initio
training, aircraft, and facility infrastructure. Students take
their ATPL programs and prepare for Multi-Crew Pilot
Licensing at an Academy flight school, then move on
to type rating, which is provided exclusively by CAE
through its global network of training centres.

CAE is a Canadian company, I don't know where you've been. They've been providing services to our industry since 1947.
Re: A heads up before this gets released to the general public
Thats one of the best analogies I've heard in regards to pay for training/job schemes!Frankly, I'm beginning to wonder why anyone wants to jump on this bus, the ride isn't very good and its expensive and it may take you to a sh*tty neighbourhood.

Click on some of the links on the CAE website. Under commercial pilots you'll find some of the airlines you can work for.
Pretty pricey, Denim Air:Financial Structure
Selection process: € 360 (excluding taxes).
Type rating course: € 28,500 (excluding taxes) including skill test and base training.
Extra costs (travel, housing, et.): at cost, payable by the trainee.
For direct entry captains, Denim Air will fund initial training costs.
Also, have a look at the starting pay for Pinnacle, $20.73 p/hr with a 75hr a month guarantee. In case you don't have a calculator, that's a little over $18,000 a year.

It's just for the following airlines: Avantair, Ryannair, Denim, Indigo, Myair, Pinnacle, Tyrolean & Vueling.....
Don't see how anybody from Canada can get into one of these companies, unless they have passports or work permits for the airline's respective country......

Asking a pilot about what he thinks of Transport Canada, is like asking a fire hydrant what does he think about dogs.

I believe as of last November, CAE owns all the Air Canada simulators across Canada.
They run them, maintain them and offer vacant time to other customers.
Does this have something to do with the initial comment?
