Air Georgian
I am interested in getting on with Air Georgian on the B1900D, any feedback on what it's like at Georgian?..salary, work condition, upgrade time?. Any info is appreciated!
Re: Air Georgian
1. You will work a lot. 14 hour days are "standard". "Extending" is common place too.echofox wrote:I am interested in getting on with Air Georgian on the B1900D, any feedback on what it's like at Georgian?..salary, work condition, upgrade time?. Any info is appreciated!
2. $27k to start as FO (give or take a few bucks).
3. The pilots that work there are top notch and great people.
4. Upgrade time depends on big red and the teal Scarf. Lots of current FOs with upgrade time waiting. Expect a year or more.
There are more posts on the subject. Do a search. GGN is a great stepping stone.

PCC shows they're hiring crews for YYC. What kind of time do they want FOs to have? How is opening a new base in YYC affecting minimum requirements?
Re: Air Georgian
Do they take direct entry capt? Salary for capt? How long from right to left?

Re: Air Georgian
From what my friends say(all work there) there is another ground school starting in the fall of this year. Apparently they need guys for Calgary. Less we not forget that you might have to fly in Halifax of Calgary even if you are hired out of Toronto. Troy will make you aware of that at the interview.rocco1 wrote:Anyone knows what is the hiring projection for the next 6 months?

Someone also mentioned TT for the job, I know of some guys with a few hundred hours that were hired out of there. They were talented pilots though.
Anyways I hope this helps as this is just pilot talk from the coffee shop but with the right people.

Talented? Or they went to Seneca?draggintails wrote:From what my friends say(all work there) there is another ground school starting in the fall of this year. Apparently they need guys for Calgary. Re: Air Georgian
Anyone willing to PM me take home pay for a an FO? just trying to figure out if I can afford the move over......also does Georgian have any jumpseat agreements?
Re: Air Georgian
I believe it's about $2,000-$2,100 take home a month. (Year 1 F/O)
Per diems will top that up for an additional $500-800
Jump seat agreement: Yes. On westjet, porter, sunwing, bunch of american carriers that are not part of Air Canada "zedfare" agreement.
Good luck, and be prepared to work about 100hrs a month! Good time builder, but you'll be a zombie;)

Re: Air Georgian
I think it's closer to 1800/month. Gross=28 000$, minus 20% tax rate-ish=1866 a month, subtract the medical benefits and union fees, I think it's about 1800 a month, I may be wrong. The per diem rate is low, but about 500 a month most likely. But who cares, per diem is not income. If you're using per diem to pay bills, you're living beyond your means.
It's a great company though, they'll tell you the deal from the get go, tell you to get time, won't bond you to hold you and will put in a good word to the big boys if you do well. Decide from there...

Re: Air Georgian
Does anyone know if they ended up hiring anyone, making calls etc?
