Wolverine Air seasonal job

Post by Duffman »

What a great opportunity for a 500 hour pilot to do some float and gravel strip flying. If I wasn't committed for this season already I would be trying for it just for the scenery alone, that area looks beautiful.

I don't know anything about the company but man that area looks nice :)

They have a decent reputation. In this business, that's number ONE. Good luck to somebody.

Further to that....take a good camera and a few SD cards! Beautiful area.

Looks like they changed their ad. It is now for a ramp/dock position and seems to require a CPLand the desire to upgrade to a flying job in the future.

My first job was at Wolverine as a "Dispatcher/Rampee", Directly out of flight school, I think I flew maybe 100-150 hours in the summer, made some good money, some great friends who I still work along side, The CP set me up with my next job (I didn't even apply for a position... just got a call), Beautiful Country, Cold Beers and great fishing. YFS is a pretty fun little town and I can think of MANY places that are far worse. I also know several people who have gone through Wolverine and have done very well for themselves. If you are a low timer, I'd jump on this in a heartbeat. Ownership has changed since I was there, so as always YMMV.

Dock hands over the past few years haven't done a lot of hours, but it still gets your foot in the door. As far as I know pay is above average for dockhand work. You'll get to do the occasional swamp job with the CP who is one of the most experienced twotter captains in the country. Usually get trained on the 172 mid season. Simpson is a good town once you get to know it. Owner is a bit of a hard ticket, but you'll have fun if you avoid her.
