Re: Hiring?
Yes, I believe some new hires had their interviews in June. There is a pool but don't ask me how many candidates are swimming altogether... I don't have any info on that.
Cheers!

Re: Hiring?
Sweet. Can anybody (preferably, first hand from active pilots) help fill me in about life at AirTransat?
1. How many hours is their salary based on?
2. What does the typical schedule look like?
(How long are their pairings / days off)
3. If I were awarded a Toronto position, how difficult would it be to bid on a Montreal spot after the fact?
4. Is it a good company? Do current pilots generally like it there?
5. How long are the average upgrade times?
6. Are layoffs expected anytime soon?
Thanks,

80/month is the in guaranty, straight time 80-85 and 1.5 for 85 plus
2. What does the typical schedule look like?

12 GDOs/month. Pairings range form 1-6 days. Expect not getting what you bid as a jr bottom of the list. Reserve can only be assigned every other month.
3. If I were awarded a Toronto position, how difficult would it be to bid on a Montreal spot after the fact?
More difficult as time goes on.
4. Is it a good company? Do current pilots generally like it there?
Not much attrition and a few that have left for big red recently have admitted they regret it but some are also happier.
5. How long are the average upgrade times?
3-6 years is my guess for the next decade.
6. Are layoffs expected anytime soon?
No
Thanks,

Re: Hiring?
Thanks for the info. Flash 8 brought up a good question too; Do they subscribe to travel benefits for my immediate family (zed/myid)?
Also:
7. What do they have for a pension plan?
8. How is the dental/health plan?

No Zed fares but some standby deals with other carriers for immediate family and sometimes parents too.
Also:
7. What do they have for a pension plan?
It's an RRSP match up to 5-5 and starting next May it will be up to 5-7. You put up to 5% of your eligible earnings and TS will match at 140% of your contribution.
8. How is the dental/health plan?
Medical and dental is decent. Our Long term disability is a noteworthy mention too, 10 years of 90% salary tax free.

Re: Hiring?
Any idea for which month they are planning ground school and if they are planning on hiring in the new year? Also, does Air Transat interview and hold you in a pool for future GS? I'm curious to know why the 737 since they are trying to replace them with the A321Neo.

Re: Hiring?
No idea when training would start. They do like to have some candidates in the pool. No mention of it being for the 737 in the add unless I missed it?FOD_Vacuum wrote:Any idea for which month they are planning ground school and if they are planning on hiring in the new year? Re: Hiring?
321 NEO is not replacing the 737 and they don't arrive till 2019. 321 CEO will be introduced soon to replace some of the 737.FOD_Vacuum wrote:Pilot Career Center mentions it. 737NG FO YYZ based.
