YUL Assessment Session Sept 13-14th, 2017

Post by Kyrma »

Hi,
Anyone got called or received an email for the assessment session in Montreal?
I was told they invite applicants 2-3 weeks before the date. Still haven't received anything.. status hasn't changed on the take charge website either .
The wait is killing me!
Thanks!

I am waiting too.

It looks like it's a wait and hurry up situation.

My agenda is open for those dates not much else that can be done.

Has anybody tried to contact the recruitment centre to find out when they plan to contact the candidates?

Apparently they already sent the invitations. This was their response to me:

The invitations for these sessions have already been extended and seating has been confirmed for those selected.

I am so sad.

I'm sad too but hey, life continues. Lets continue applying for subsequent years and meanwhile move on to other projects.

I am supposed to get a tour of the enroute facility in YUL next week. Maybe I'll get more info about the selection process.

Hey generic,
Yeah, life has to go on. That's great that you're getting a tour of the terminal control centre. How did you manage to arrange it?
Please share with us the information you get about the selection process.

I think you mostly need to know someone to get a tour. There is security measures to follow.

Anyway good news, the program in September was only for the referees, so I heard. Meaning it was someone already working for NavCanada giving a reference for an applicant. I personally think it's the easiest way to get your application considered but they said it makes no difference. The next hurdle will be for online applicants.

The result of the online testing will determine who gets selected and who doesn't get a chance for the assessment.

One good thing I learned is that once you get selected and enrolled they want everyone to succeed. They pay to train you and they want everyone to pass even if only 40% make it. If you dont make it in class it is not because they took only the best but because you weren't fit for the job.

For those who attended Sept 13-14 at YUL:

How did you do on the 8 minute test? Did you get all 30?
I timed out for the last question, although I had the answer, I didnt click it in time
Other than that it went really well. Did anyone else have a similar fate? Im nervous that one
Wrong question would disqualify me for the year.. (assuming all my other questions were answered correctly)

How many were there in attendance at YUL Sept 13-14?
I heard there is a long backlog of qualified applicants ar YYZ, I assume it was the same for Montreal
Did anyone who wrote the 8 minute this summer make it to the Sept session?
Anyone who was at YUL in-person assessment, we at YYZ would appreciate any updates as to how it went for you

Best of luck to everyone, Im convinced that anyone who wants this badly
Enough and has the aptitude will eventually get a spot

Hi Toda,

I was part of this assessment session. For the online test, I don't remember exactly, I did it at the end of last year. But I'm sure I didn't answer all the 30 questions. As for the number of persons, for September 13th (French) we were 21. I assume it was similar for September 14th (English).
