Training program.

Post by Scott25 »

I heard during the training you write upward of 30 tests. I was also told you have to get an 80% on all of them and if you fail once you're kicked out is that true? I understand because this job is about the safety of people and is a life and death situation. But just one fail seems a bit harsh just wondering if anyone can confirm or deny this

Looks like you were given some highly exaggerated information.

Your basic course has approx. 8 exams but will vary on IFR or VFR.

Your specialty course will have from 1-4 exams but there are exceptions with a few having more.

If you fail a test (below 80%) you get a review and a chance to re-write the exam. If you fail the first attempt and get a horrible mark ( usually less than 65%) you do not get a chance at a re-write.

I'm awful at writing tests, I passed every one of them with safe margins.

Study and work hard and you will pass. Slack off and you won't.

There's a lot of knowledge you need to access quickly to do this job, but by no means is the knowledge base insurmountable.

Also, there's LOTS of help to get you through.

Okay awesome thanks. I figured they wouldn't set you up to fail. they bring you this far along obviously they want you to pass otherwise why would they waste their time on you. Now hopefully I can just get in
