For those who have attended, what are they like?

It's 5 different tests mainly all aptitude testing. You will write the Wsim which you should be prepared for. But download apps on your phone for aptitude testing prepare for those. Also sit as close to the front as you can as you'll have the listening exam. If your answer wrong in the listening exam you lose a point which is the only exam like this. Good luck.

what is the Wsim? sorry- totally newbie here!!!

The Wsim is the only thing you can study for and relates to air traffic. If you get invited to the assessment session they give you practice questions online with the Wsim. So you'll learn what it is then
