YVR in-person assessment

#1 Post by jacqueen » Sat Mar 31, 2018 9:12 pm

Does anyone know what the current hiring situation is for YVR?

I completed the online test back in February 2018, but have yet to hear anything from them..

Has anyone gotten an invite for an in-person assessment recently?

The last time I sent off an e-mail, the reply I received was that there would be an in-person assessment around May/June time frame.

I completed my online assessment mid-Jan, I've been waiting for anything official since.

I'm away 1 week in May and 2 weeks in June so I'm really hoping it doesn't conflict...I'd really rather not wait another year.

Be patient, sometimes there are not requirements for people and sometime there are. The first time I did my online test, i wasn't called; this year I received the invite two weeks after my assessment. try to check on the NAV Canada website to see if there is any assessment date coming up.

It's not really something you can prepare for just find a quiet place where you won't be interrupted. It's 30 questions and you have 8 minutes to answer as many as you can. Some basic math problem solving, spatial reasoning, pattern recognition...nothing too complicated! You can Google some practice aptitude tests to get an idea. Good luck!

Has anyone heard of another round of in-person assessments for YVR? I was invited in May, but unfortunately I wasn't able to make it due to unforeseen circumstances. I'd have hoped another round would have come around by now but haven't seen/heard anything...my online assessment expires in January so I'm hoping to squeeze in an in-person one before that :S

I just did my online assessment last week (September 21 2018), haven't heard anything yet obviously. Hopefully there is something before the new year.

I did an online assessment in Sept 2016 and went the whole year with no in person assessment and timed out. Applied again in Sept 2017 and finally got to an in person assessment in May 2018...and now I have a course offer! So hang in there the waiting does suck but it's worth It! :)

You are proof to that you may have to wait then! Do you have to re apply before your profile expires or wait till it expires? Thanks

I think you have to wait for the day after it expires then go back in. Just update any info that's changed, update the essay thing and take the online test again.

Can somebody pinch me - I got offered an in-person interview at the ACC!

I was a part of the May 15th 2018 in person assessment and did my phone interview in June.

VFR-IFR-FSS for those interested.

Congratulations and good luck on the interview! Hopefully it goes well!

I hope this is a good sign that in-person assessments might happen next month too? Regret having to miss the May one now.... =/
