Any word on status of furloughed SWG pilots at CJT?
Probably fine.
The CJ chief pilot was a Sunwing boy long ago...

The CP and SVP are both stellar individuals. You can bet this decision came from the executive suite and nothing to do with Flight Ops.

Speaking to a captain who works there, it sounds like this stemmed from SWG guys who were recalled after completing their initial, as recently as August. It also sounds like this will continue as furloughed hires reach their one-year probation, as they wish to replace them with non-furloughed hires. The timing seems convenient for them as they're in limbo transitioning from Unifor to ALPA, as ALPA leagal isn't able to step in yet.

Greasy as hell.

With the majority of the experienced pilot supply chain being pilots that are on layoff from 705 operators - who are the targeted replacements? 703? 704? Pilots returning from offshore?

So far the media doesn’t know about it. The company has gotten away with it under the rug. Rest assured consequences are going to come for this discriminatory wrongful dismissal that’s not based on performance.

If CG thought for one second that the majority of those AC furloughs would give up a number or delay a recall and stay they're dumber than a post. If you were a furloughed AC pilot and watching how AJ is treating his pilots would you stay?

Yeah but we want the NEXT one, where he explains how he got laid off and went back to AC, and that if we were just a bit smarter about career planning, we could be just like him.

Everything you said here is unfounded speculation. Except for the last line.

The media doesn’t yet know that Drake’s business partner is up to no good?

Discrimination is not limited to discrimination based on race.

Being an Air Canada pilot is not a protected class, therefore discrimination won’t apply. Need to argue race, or gender etc.

And employer can terminate you without cause anytime they want they just have to pay severance.

Discrimination: the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people or things, especially on the grounds of race, age, or sex.
You can discriminate based on many things such as one's height, favourite food, and inability to post anything intelligent. In this case, the claim was being made that CagoJet was targeting pilots who came from AC (identifiable group) and firing them (negative action).

You said it better. And not all AC pilots were discriminated against.
