Outlook Express msg recovery

Post by looproll »

I just switched my OS to win XP and now all my old email is gone. I'm trying to figure out where I need to move the old dbx files into the a new folder on the new hard drive to get all my old stuff back. Anyone know? I think I'm on the right track with this, but... HELP

The folder you're looking for is something like:
C:\Documents and Settings\(account name)\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\(long string of numbers and letters)\Microsoft\Outlook Express\

Two options might work from here:

-Overwriting the existing DBX files. Be careful that your arrange your current structure to match the old one, or you won't be able to replace all your files.

-Going in OE's Option menu, under maintenance and change the storage folder to one containing your old DBXes.

Good luck,

Louis
