Back...back..back..back..back...
Feel free to move this post if it's in the wrong section.
I'm all for advertising to support this site, I'll even click on them once in a while just to help out!
BUT is anyone else getting annoyed at the current way the ads are being displayed?
In case anyone doesn't know what I'm talking about, or if maybe I'm the only one having this problem and therefore needs to upgrade my browser... When i open up a thread to read and it already has a few posts, there will be an ad displayed on the right hand margin of the first few posts per page. However it seems like for each ad that appears the browser is opening up a new page so when I finish reading and want to go back to the main page and pick a new thread I need to hit back over and over again before I can go back the 1 page to where I started.
Is there anyway this can be fixed in order to make things a little easier?
Sometimes i get impatient and click happy, ending up all the way back to the home page.
Hopefully no one replies just to tell me to suck it up and hit the back button a few times...

Re: Back...back..back..back..back...
I get "Webpage has expired" a lot when I hit the back button. Normally happens after I have made a post during my session on the site.
Re: Back...back..back..back..back...
at the top of the page you can quickly get back to the board index or whatever forum you were visiting with just one click...so maybe don't hit back?
Re: Back...back..back..back..back...
Use the recent windows tab beside the back and forward arrows on the top left of the page.

I use Firefox and have never encountered a problem.

I have the same problem. It takes rapid backs just to get to the previous page. You're not alone, it started happening about a month ago maybe.

I'm using Google Chrome. Seems fine here.
Re: Back...back..back..back..back...
For anybody using IE as their browser and experiencing the "Back" button issue:
Select "Tools" menu from the top of the page, click "Internet Options", click "Advanced", scroll down to "Browsing" and remove the tick mark from "Show friendly http error messages". Click "Apply", then "OK".
Once this is done, your "Back" button should work normally.

I recommend FireFox 3.5 with Adblock Plus. Haven't seen an ad in months.

Dave, we rely on those ads to pay the bandwidth bills for this site. If you are visiting the site and blocking the ads but still consuming bandwidth we pay for, that's not playing fair. Think about it.

Sulako - I keep the filters off. I only put the AdBlock on certain sites where you will get adware / casino ads.Sulako wrote:Dave, we rely on those ads to pay the bandwidth bills for this site. Don't worry I am just pointing out that for malicious sites (not this one), Ad+ is very helpful.
Edit: Also meant that FF is probably the fastest, bug free browser on the net. The slew of addons make it totally worthwhile.
