Hey all,

This might not be for all of you but if you wanna take a peak into my experiences coming to Botswana to fly in the bush, there's a company in NB making a go of a new form of entertainment on the internet.

Here's my story so far and the episodes to come will have some hardcore bush flying for ya!!

To view episodes you should only have to click on the episode you wish to watch then hit play, then go to the next episode and same same but different.

Thanks for the comment on the site man! Here's the straight up answer on how I got hired at Sefofane Air Charters over 22 other guys who were camping out, very hungry and driven. I did a 50 hour bush pilot course with David Budd and Martin Hebert / Ocean Air www.oceanair.ca out of Pat Bay on Vancouver Island. That on my resume and some great situational awareness and honed skills got me the gig. I flew a Beaver for a 100 hours before coming here but that didn't matter anywhere near as much as the bush pilot course.

They hire guys straight out of a comm license but the guys with some bush experience and over the age of 28 (I'm 32) stand out in these hard times. You have to show up and prove you can live in these conditions for a month min before they even look at ya.

There's a world of info on pprune under the africa section then the maun 09/10 section. Live the dream

I don't have many regrets. My decision not to go to Botswana to do some flying is one of them. Good for you. Only slight pangs of jealousy on my part!

I just was browsing PCC and noticed Stefophane put a note on the site saying they will now hire nationals only due to problems with getting work visas for the expats. I hope this doesnt affect you; I thoroughly enjoy watching your journey. Good luck!

Eventually. I've been flying floats for Simpson Air into the Nahanni National Park Reserve for he past two seasons and have lots of great footage but waiting for some time to put it together and throw it out there. Now that I'm in Canada, there's also a little worry about those guys with the sloping foreheads, beady eyes and travel in packs of two catching a glimpse.

Cheers,

Dave
