Herc's and Buffalo's leaving the North?
Is it true that both the Herc's and the Buffalo's are leaving YZF?

Yes it is True. One Herc left 2 months ago the other made its last commercial trip yesterday. It has been sold to Lynden air in Alaska. 1 Buffalo left 2 months ago the other leaves sometime this summer.

Wow that all happened quick. What will be replacing those cargo machines in YZF? Sad to see the Herc's go but was time for the Buffalo. They were already used up and underutilized when I was up there.

Did Magoo get sold with the Buffalos?

Those I have spoke with tell me it is gone and will be based in Alaska. If it is needed it will come back to Yellowknife. The Ferry flight will be at full tariff. Not sure i would call that not gone just re-branded.

Looks like Summit Air just picked up an ATR 72 freighter, according to the TC civil aircraft register....maybe to replace the departure of the Bufs ?

This arrangement requires the approval of the CTA and I could imagine that it won't be all that straight forward. Are you allowed to charter an American registered Herc only for loads that no Canadian aircraft can handle, or will there be a more broad interpretation?snoopy wrote:Did Magoo get sold with the Buffalos?

I would also assume that if one of the two companies rumoured to be searching for a Herc get one, then the 7F/Lynden deal will be dead?
If Lynden does any significant flying over the next year I wonder what ALPA's reaction will be- basically laying off Canadian pilots/crews and replacing them with outsourced US ones?
Fun times- sad to see the end of the Herc era in Canada.

Lyndon has their herb into old crow relatively regularly

Makes sense. Probably takes lots of thyme to make an old crow anywhere near palatable. More than a couple sprigs of rosemary too.Redneck_pilot86 wrote:Lyndon has their herb into old crow relatively regularly

I wonder if Lyndon pilots are members of a onion. I know First Air ones are.
