This is a 128 gb iPad mini 4 and we store all charts and plates for all of North America so the week prior to the start of a new update cycle it prompts you to download the updates (many gb's worth). Needless to say, it's better done on my blazing fast internet at home and not some spotty public network.Axial Flow wrote:Have you considered clicking on the bottom right hand corner and downloading 303 updated files!
How do you find the stratus 2 does for pitch/bank? I just ordered one and hoping it isn't a waste of cash for the backup AHRS function. Are you level in that picture? It kind shows a right bank but it is zero'd at the top.
ADS-B looks great when close to the border.
Any feedback on the Stratus 2 would be great.
I have few complaints with the stratus 2. Sometimes when you turn it on foreflight doesn't connect to it and the app needs to be fully quit and reloaded. Ahramin is correct in that the photo is tilted, not the horizon. I've seen the horizon drift out a couple degrees over very log periods (hours) but it's easy to zero/re-calibrate. It's pretty amazing to watch as you fly an approach that you've also loaded in foreflight. You fly right onto the runway on the screen of the iPad.
The ADSB is great especially for weather. Nav Canada needs to get on board and release their weather to the system. Interestingly Canadian marine weather stations on the West Coast feed into the ADSB wx updates so I can get an approximation of Vancouver and Nanaimo wx by looking a Sand Heads and Entrance Island.
