1965 Cessna 172-G with O-300 On Floats with NO OIL COOLER

Post by Cliffy100 »

Hi gang!

Hope everyone is doing well!

I'm looking at ways to help cool my o-300 during the summer while on floats.

The POH says à oil cooler is to be installed for the float kit but it never was done! Furthermore I can't find a STC for the float oil cooler -anywhere! Any thoughts?? steves aviation use to have a STC but it's all gone now...

So if there is no oil cooler I've seen people posting combining a A&F oil file adapter with a airwolf oil cartridge cooler.

The other option is a air wolf remote oil cooler located bottom of the fire wall near the wheel opening for extra air flow, then add the air chiller....

After all my reading this is what I've come up with!

Any comments or suggestions?
