Piston Pilatus Porter

Post by Antique Pilot »

Here is Pilatus Porter CF-BGL at Red Lake, Ont March 24, 1971. Fairly unique aircraft I would think. It was being operated by the Northern Lights Gospel Mission for a number of years in NW Ontario.

There were a number of piston Porters before the turbines made it a hit, although it was the only piston Porter to have been registered in Canada according to TC's historical aircraft registration database. I believe that airframe was the last flying piston Porter (until 2015). It is currently on display and for sale.

Thanks for the link. I see that about 70 piston Porters were build before building the turbine version.
