8) well watch out for the river current , make sure ya do thorough preflight of the bird everyday cause sometimes though not often the local
kids will throw things at the bird out of boredom. it is mainly a native community and isolated /be nice /jokes about being a "foreigner"
even though it is your tax dollar being wasted by the dump truck full

bring at least 2 fishing rods and have someone send you up a bucket
of driving range golf balls to hit a few everynight of the dock.

bring lots of bug spray they are big. the lake and river water around that part of the world is generally black /dark bottom so standard flight inpections are good idea for every place you have not been into.
never late any one push you into a bad spot just because the guy last year got in. hell, for all you know that guy might of been flying a twin otter with all the ifr toys.

finally don't forget the camera. hope that helps

finally bring a camera take lots.

Make sure you bring something that will keep you warm. Not sure how long you will be up there, but you can be sure that it will be cold for a while still.

As oldncold said, bring a fishing rod or two. Great fishing up there! Make friends with anyone with a boat that can take you out for a bit of fishing.

Beer is a good thing too. As much as you can cause you never know when you will get the chance to get some more up there.

Most of all, think positive. If you hate it from the get go, then it will never get better. There are no bars and the one resturant is about as greasy a spoon as you will find. If you look at it as an adventure and put yourself into your work, the time you spend up there will go be faster. Pay your dues up there and do your best to move on and south again.

Best of luck.
