Excellent photos!!
Is there a reason for not feathering the props ( first pic ) I have seen that on floats but not on wheels/skiis

Re: Pix From a Swamper - Remembering Craig Chenell
Yes! There is a reason.. you want to start in that flat pitch on the 'blade latches' or you'll find yourself moving forward or sideways with only one engine turning as it starts to grab when the prop comes out of feather. You want to start in a zero thrust scenerio

A local Tanzanian company... owns 3 Vans, 2 206's and a half dozen safari lodges, which makes for some good overnights, considering people pay anywhere from 400 to 700 a night/person to stay in these lodges... others are even more expensive.tiny wrote:JAC

More lions, different day... this was right beside the runway. Hyraxes begging for some ugali. Luxury tent in Selous Game Reserve on the Rufiji River. It's good fun but I work way too much... have logged 800 hours in the last 6 months. The good side is it's slowing down and with the heavy rains in the March, April, May comes little to no flying at all and I'll be home for a holiday.
Unless I head to the Sudan, which is still a possibility... referendum in 4 days and shortly thereafter, I should have some answers from these guys in Kenya and Sudan as to whether they'll take our plane or not.

Hey all!!!! Just wanted to share how I was spending my winter..... Try not to freeze up there eh?!!?
Fueling up in Savusavu before fighting the 25 knot headwind home....
GEE on the apron in Nadi with GLL (R.I.P) in the background
Saying hello to some buddies out surfing...

I sure wish I was still looking after Serial #124 now sporting DQ-GWW formerly CF-GQW. First aircraft I signed out with my shiny new ticket circa 1964.....It's snowing by the way.....

Nice to see GWW back to life with the Edo's! She looks much better than the last photo I saw a few years ago.
I had wonderful times "experiencing the difference" with that Beaver as well as with GLL in 2001.
