Thanks mate! Shooting with Canon Rebel XS and these (except for the Harvard pics) were shot with 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III.

Spent some time in Cambridge Bay again, had some fun getting different angles on Canadian North's sched flight!

Photo from a recent camp mob we did in the Yukon. Unfortunately I can't take credit for pushing the button. Cheers to the chopper pilot for capturing the shot!

Hey Kiwi, in which flight sim is that?
The picture is too good to be true; some chopper pilots got way too much time on their hands.

Finally caved and started an account. All photos have been taken on my iPhone. Haven't had time to mess around with the other camera and editing yet.

Trying out the new toys (Camera...) I talked myself out of a d800 for something a little more practical, and so far I like the results!

Finally got some time to use the DSLR. Hoping to see some pics from STL and Rowdy and where abouts they are this summer.

Hum...you guys make me think me should buy a real camera! What would you suggest for a starter?

Adam, I just picked up a Nikon 10-24 for that shot, It blows me away how good these new lenses and cameras are compared to my old F5. That one was shot at 10mm (15mm equiv) at I suspect f8.

Gilles, Any modern SLR will do %130 of what you need, these days you hit the point of diminishing returns much quicker then it use to be. If you don't already have glass for a particular brand I would suggest the entry level SLR from any major company (Nikon, Canon, Pentax, Sony...). Try em all out and see what feels best in the hand and go with that! The first thing I would add after that is a lens that is not the kit lens, but it depends how much you want to invest. Initially the kit lens will be more then enough to blow any point and shoot out of the water
