Almost everyones right.. cept those are the smaller 4530's

Don't forget the finlets instead of the dock knocker.. It also had a *gasp* electric boost pump in place of the wobble. AND canoe racks (not visible from that side)

Still had the original generator and battery in the back. Not to mention the original backseat (most have been swapped to the split)

Was the desert scoop optional on civi. models? and standard on the L-20's? I'm pretty sure this one was a civi. that had been a cobble of other machines..

I allus thought the scoop meant the engine had a downdraft carburetor??

Rowdy I've flown this one http://www.dhc-2.com/id313.htm and this one http://www.dhc-2.com/id852.htm. They were never L-20's and they both had the top mounted carb air scoop.

Same carb regardless of scoop position. Just with a desert scoop there is a long duct or pipe that runs down the right side of the engine and around underneath to the bottom of the carb. The carb heat is in basically the same position as well. The idea was to keep sand out the intake I think, but it really gets in the way when your trying to work on the right side of the engine.

Nope, but Villers did have it at one time. The ground is a little flat in that picture for Northern BC :wink:

ya rumour is tripple pop should be back on line shortly and I think its for sale.
Is it just me or is the left engine not running on that islander in the flare?

Looks like the aileron mass balance from the other airplane is positioned just right to make it seem the prop is feathered on the landing aircraft.

Good eye Siddley, except the aircraft is lifting off not landing. Landing flap on an Islander (56 degrees) is considerably more prominant than the 25 degrees in that photo.
