Hi all,
I'm in the process of applying for a resource consent to set up a float plane operation (outside Canada) and am struggling to find information regarding noise readings for the DHC-2.
I have conducted a full sound report for a C-206 on floats but I now need to compare these readings to the Beaver.
Ideally, any information or links on the following would be greatly appreciated:

1. Sound comparisons for various float planes, particularly the C-206 vs DHC-2.
2. Sound information on the DHC-2 fitted with a 3 bladed prop as opposed to the standard 2 bladed prop.
3. Any location based sound reports from which comparisons can be drawn.

Basically any information regarding float/sea planes and sound/ acoustics would be appreciated.
Info can be PM'ed to or emailed.
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Shona

Contact the Victoria Harbour Authority. They have done an extensive noise study in Victoria Harbour on the Dhc-2, Dhc-3T, Dhc-6 and Sikorsky S-76 that operate there.

Dave Featherby was the Harbour Master there when I was flying out of there

It's not the (Greater) Victoria Harbour Authority you want to contact; they exist, but have nothing to do with the water airport. You need to contact Transport Canada, Victoria Harbour office. And it is Dave Featherby who you need to talk to - he is the harbour master. Google 'dave fetherby transport canada' and you will find his contact info.

There are a few operators with both aircraft in Australia and New Zealand you could try and contact.
