hi ,

need some info..

profile : TT 2400hrs with 2000 hrs on Airbus320 and Boeing 787 endorsement(trg done from Boeing trg facility) and soon to fly 787 with my current company and hope to have 200 hrs on 787 by yr end.

i am getting canadian immigration, permanent residencey, in next few months.
right now based in asia (citizen).

if i take up the immigration , is there any chance of getting job with canadian airlines? whats the scope for me in canada with my flying experince ?

what i have read on company sites is they are asking for canadian lic. and work to permit/PERMANENT RES/ or citizen.

Hate to break it to you, but I am sure you have heard the story about Sunwing and their pilots from Europe not being too welcome in Canada..lots of guys suggested that there are enough qualified guys in Canada to take the jobs. The same goes for Air Canada and their 787 once they get them. I am assuming you will get more dead end responses from guys on this forum talking about pilots coming from other countries of the world and trying to continue their careers here.

First off, I assume you are a born citizen from an Asian country as per your post. As far as I know, Asia's air travel is booming right now and lots of pilots are needed. Asia will pay their pilots more than Canada will. Right now, there is no company in Canada flying the 787 because it hasn't been delivered to its customer. Those are some reasons why you should consider taking a position in Asia. Try knocking on ANA and Air India's door. As far as I know, Canada is only one very small percentile where the 787 was even ordered, so why Canada? I am sure you will have better luck outside of Canada for that 787 pilot spot. Good luck.
