I understand you have done the Coast thing..but there are operators out there that will get you that bush experience without living somewhere with a Fort in its name. And you wont have to talk to anyone if you dont want to either.. PM me if you want a name.

As far as Ontario goes.. Sioux lookout is a nice little town, great for beaching, fishing, hunting and hanging out outside.

I don't know the operators as I've never flown floats but I've spent some time in nice little towns in north-west Ontario. Red Lake, Kenora, Fort Frances, are there float operators in Dryden? Sioux Lookout isn't too bad... well maybe it is. All nice towns that a family can be happy in for a time (I'd say Kenora would be most civilized and short enough drive to Winnipeg. I flew on a Rusty Myers caravan last fall out of a fishing camp back to Fort Frances. Pilot really seemed to enjoy it there. Middle aged guy, don't remember his name. I was the smallest guy so had to sit in the stupid fold up seat in the back otherwise he would have let me sit up front. That's all I've got for you.

How many hours of float time would some of the low time operators be looking for this summer? I have about 100 hours on floats and some experience with a bush operator. Just wondering .

I would suggest you also look into White River Air as well. The Machlachlan family are absolutely amazing to work for and White River is only a couple of hour drive from Sault Ste. Marie.

I've been reading avcanada for a while but this is my first post, so forgive me if dragging up an old thread is bad manners.

I'm curious though, cloudrunner did you ever find what you were looking for?
