Fecteau Aviation / A. Fecteau Transport Aerien

Post by Trevor »

Is there anyone out there who was connected with Fecteau Aviation Ltee or A. Fecteau Transport Aerien Ltee. back in the 1960s? I'm trying to find out about their Otters and Beavers. Unfortunately there's very little on the internet, and most of what is there is French, which I don't speak.

Cheers,

Trevor

I once flew the line alongside an older gentleman who flew a -2 for Fecteau...

Arthur apparently used a stop watch to "time" his drivers as they taxied and "warmed up" their engine every morning.

As the story goes, anyone who wouldn't do so for 10 mins got shit canned.

To this day, that story alone makes me very conscientious of a proper warm up every morning at work....

All the best,
TPC

I work with a gentleman who worked over there for a long time as a pilot & dispatcher.
He happens to have a very good memory.
Send the specifics by PM and I'll forward them to him.

I also flew with a fellow, who flew for old Joe. If my memory serves me right, Dehavilland approached him about a new STOL bush plane. Joe told them he had to be able to roll fuel drums inside it. They came back with the beaver. Joe was a stickler, better have a sea anchor on board before taking off!!
