What a mess. Mud all over the place and up the fuselage. That refueling procedure might raise a few TC eyebrows if this was done by todays regulators.

The skinny line leading into the cockpit in the first picture is connected to the bleed air system and one engine is run to supply the air pressure through a regulator to pressurize the fuel drum. Pressure pushes fuel up the standpipe and through the no-go filter and into the aircraft tank. About 3 or so minutes to empty a drum this way.

I don't remember ever wobble pumping any fuel into a twotter.

The big deal is that as far as I know the system was never "Approved" - but that didn't mean it didn't work well!!

I've been away from the aircraft for a lot of years - If someone actually has the approval for it let us know!!

Sounds like a "city boy" comment. Look around, that's the bush circa 1970 or so in the early spring. Mud happens, but it will wash off.

Well I guess I'm a City Boy then. Of all the names people have called me, no one has ever noticed before! Life goes on.

Now hold my shovel while I clean this sh!t off my boots and get the loader.
