Hi all
I am trying to get my hands on a service manual for a C-182 from 1956.
I know ATP sells them for 3 large a year but if it is possible to find it cheaper that would, of course, be better.
Does anyone know if those manuals have to be serialed and issued by ATP or Cessna or can we simply copy a current edition?
Thanks for your help guys.

You can buy the '62 and prior 100 series service manual CD off ebay for $12.99 plus postage. No mention in the listing about revision status, of course. I'm sure if you look around online you can find the pdf file that the enterprising ebay seller burnt their CD from, available for free download.

Contact cessna with your model, year and serial number. They may be able to steer you or contact your local AMO that services them.
