Post by V1VRV2 »

Hi everyone

Tried a search but didn’t get any answers.... too lazy to look up the CAR’s lol

Whats the interval for a Canadian home built AC as far as the Compass swing validity period ?
Thanks for your help.

(a) Except as provided in (b) and (c), non-stabilized magnetic direction indicators shall be calibrated, and a dated correction card installed for each indicator, at at intervals not exceeding 12 months;
If you are maintaining your homebuilt aircraft you should carefully go through 625 B Part I and 625 C line by line and make yourself a checklist, then add in anything else not covered.

Hello ahramin

I recently purchased the airplane had a pre buy done, ferried it home from out west now that the dust has settled somewhat. I plan on doing exactly what you suggested, as the annual is due I just wanted to get an idea on the compass swing to organize it.
Its been over 20 yrs since I owned and I’ll admit I haven’t kept up to the Canadian CAR’s. Looks like I’d better start lol

Regards,
