Hello there
Any advantage to use one of those Carb Ice detection system instead of a more simple carb temperature gauge? I do have the latter on our Cessna 180 but wondering about the detection unit usefulness? Having that red light pop on when there is thin ice and frost forming up is kind of nice....
Cheers

For my experience, I prefer a carb air temperature indicator. You will not get carb ice, if you have used the CAT to prevent it in the first place.
