Ferry Tank Requirements / Regulations

Post by Skylark60 »

I am planning a cross country trip from north AB to NF and have limited: Range and refueling options

My aged aircraft has a STC in it's paperwork for a 18 gal Javelin but no longer installed.

How does one go about getting a ferry tank approved / installed for such a cross country flight?

I am flying a Cessna 175 /w a 470K on floats with a 3 hour range and would like to add an hour and a half to that to achieve refueling depots

How do others satisfy this need?

Buy a Javelin tank, and re-install it.
That will give you 17 gallons ?
Which for an 0-470 will give you 1.3 hrs fuel.
