slick vs Bendix

Post by tazin river »

Hello all

Looks like I may need to replace one mag. The other is getting old as well. My plane has the slick mags right now. Is the Bendix a better product?

what engine/airframe are you using? some af the new lasar/unison electronic ignitions maybe worth investigating. could save you a couple gph, and give you more horsepower. Not hard to justify if your replacing anyways!

Either Slick or Bendix recommend a 500hr insp of the brushes etc. Think it's Bendix, but I've had too many Superbowl beers to know for sure. :D

It might be something to look into before you choose 'yer mags.

I had Bendix mags on my Stinson and found that the price to rebuild one at Leggatt's was about the same a buying two new Slicks with new wires. I bought the Slicks through Chief Aviation in Oregon. They have been flawless so far.
