AME Jobs?

Post by allo »

Hi,

I was just wondering if you guys have any idea on if there are any jobs available in BC for AME's? My friend finished school in December and has been searching since. Has visited the island and is now thinking about packing everything up and moving north to look for an AME position there and I don't know if it's worth it? Any suggestions?

Thanks

Westjet is looking for an M2 cat. out in Kelowna this week here is the link:

http://c0dsp.westjet.com/internet/sky/jobs/index.jsp

click on the "Hiring Centre" link and look up the Maintenance jobs available.

Another link for you to try is http://www.geary.ca/aviation.html

near the bottom are links to job listings for us AME types in Canada here, also join the forum there on the page as job postings get tossed into the
email list from time to time.

Finally support the fine folks here at AvCanada and check out their job listings section at http://www.avcanada.ca/forums2/viewforum.php?f=7

Cheers!

Hello! milendimitrovbg  :D

You should be a "master AME" , I envy you. So good luck to you to find a job in Canada. I also went to Cascade for a interview before, up to now, I don't know the reason of "rejecting", but my friends told me it is of salary... .......I only have AME M2 and FAA A&P, and keep trying job search now...... :x

I'm an M2 and FAA A&P licenced AME, and I'm looking for overseas work. Spent 10 years at Air Canada, and had a good time there with great people, and my layoff now pushes me to go work in exile somewhere, which is something I've always wanted anyway.

Any hints about agency or company names that deal with the type of credentials I possess?

Cheers!

Try your question here... http://www.airmech.co.uk/forum/ultimatebb.cgi many of the 'posters' are from overseas and have work for the various job agencies. Good Luck.

I worked in YUL, YVR, YEG and lastly in YHZ. It was a fun tour around the country. Too bad the union situation maintenance people find themselves in at Air Canada is so messed-up. Having baggage handling dictating what goes for maintenance is quite absurd, and I certainly whish CAMA (http://www.canama.ca) get's to represent these poor folks in Tech Services and Air Canada Line Maintenance. I certainly won't miss that aspect of my time at AC, but will always remember the good times with true professionals and great friends.

Cheers!

If you want to work for cascadeaerospace, contact CASltd.ca to see if you can contract with them in cascade.
Avmax in Calgary is having trouble finging guys, they are are having problems keeping up with the resignations at the moment.
Kelowna flightcraft will be looking for people in september/october to staff their new hangar in Kelowna.
Air Canada will be hiring off the street in a few months, but who wants to go to an unstable company like aircanada?
Good luck in finding work as an AME. .

Just wondering if they've found any work for that hangar? Last I was told(by a manager) is they were hoping to attract work by building it. They did'nt have any work for it. The're's always been the the 757 rumour for hmy, but they're still with Cascade last I heard. There was a rumour of them getting a hmy ship in the fall, but that's it. They have plenty of people already there, so I would'nt expect a hiring spree.

Hi Pat Richards,

You say you're an old guy and I see you fly the PBY.

Did you ever work with Sheldon Luck?

I understand he flew for the Flying Firemen and they had a bunch of PBY's didn't they?

I've never had the honor of wrenching one but remember being in Seal Cove when they flew in from Ketchican I think and would come lumbering up the ramp.

As much as I'd like to admit flying a cat, I'd be lying. I think you're mixing me up with someone else who shares the same name.

I've never worked on a radial except in school, years ago.

Cheers'

Pat,
What company just did the pre-delivery and delivery for HMY's 4th B757?
Just wondering coz Kelowna Airport just had the first landing of a 757 aircraft last monday.
Was it flightcraft or Cadcade Aerospace?

I just found out today, while looking at possible winter getaways, that hmy is going to flying direct to Honolulu from kelowna this winter. Man, I'd never have thought that they could get outa there loaded to the hilt. Must be right on the margin.

I had no idea that a 757 landed there last week. If it did, i would think KFC would be an interested party and probably involved, but I don't have any info. I do recall seeing 2 white painted 757's at Abbottsford(Cascade)a few months ago, which I believe belong to hmy.

If anyone else knows any more details on the kelowna thing, do tell.

The "Three" white 757's in abbottsford belong to a american start up who will fly them across the atlantic. the aircraft are being fitted out in all business class front to rear. The name of the start up is something along air atlantic charters.
Flightcraft has already completed a 'C' check for HMY several weeks ago, as for the next one who knows what HMY will decide.
Flightcraft did the delivery for aircraft Number 4, thats why a 757 was in Kelowna, and yes the 757 will easily get out of that airport.
Flightcraft has a web site for resumes. I was speaking to the snap-on sales man and he was telling me about the shortage of ame's on the southside of YVR airport. Might be a good time to start door knocking again.
Good luck to all looking for work. Thanks to air canada recalls, there will be a few holes around for the rest of us to have a go at.

PENTA is not really want to hire ppl. especially not for Apprenticeship. Maybe it's the way to tell ppl know they are growing (but not really). "If u are not a smart guy, it's hard to survive in the company", that's what they said.
