I need help with the INRAT
ANYONE KNOW OF ANY QESTIONS ON THE INRAT??? PM ME PLEASE. I did aerocourse and all that but am having a bit of trouble. If someone could share some questions (via PM) or just tips that would be wicked.

Do a quick search and you'll find many of the questions there. Remember that posting the actual questions/awnsers is forbiden.

Ok. Here is my tip for you.
Hit the books again. Study for understanding. Still having trouble. Study some more.
This learning the answers to the questions is not going to help you when you need it, and despite all those who say these exams dont properly assess a person, I believe they do.
Lastly, should this thread not be in flight training?

Aerocourse offers a free retake policy if you bone the written within 6months of taking it.
I found the materials presented to be precisely what you needed to know before the exam.

If you've written the exam and flunked it, it is likely that you don't understand the concepts that underlie them.
You will need those skill sets in order to fly IFR.

I disagree, even though I understood the concepts, and could fly a perfect IR exam, I did have some trouble when I wrote it... Those TC exams are meant to confuse you... I hate the idea of having to write a "all the awnsers are right, but pick the "rightest one" " Is TC testing us on our knowledge or are they teaching us how to "play their game" (An Aerocourse instructor used that exact last statement)just curious wrote:If you've written the exam and flunked it, it is likely that you don't understand the concepts that underlie them.

Ummm... I hate the TC style too. But if they made it that easy, anyone can pass. So i suggest that you try to practice as many questions as possible. Cant say any more than that. Aerocourse has a workbook for IFR questions.twotterflogger wrote:

Don't blame yor lack of understading on the wording of the questions. If you have true understanding of the material, then the correct answer to the questions should jump right out at you. Ther is no "rightest" answer. There is one right and three wrong.
In any case, no need to PM with what is on the exam. It should all be given to you on the aerocourse.

OK OK i appear slack. I did the aerocourse but can't figure out when to use the slide rule. they never explained that. i would say way too much time was spent on met. the instructor loves met. so i can't figure the slide rule out or some flight planning questions.

I assume you are talking about the sliding scale as it applies to alternate selection? If so, refer to this.

Most of these exams are just minor barriers to entry. All of the BS you will write on any TC exam is just a way they came up with to figure out a way to allow you to have a license. Go into their office, CALMLY, and write the exam. You will then not have to write it again for a couple of years, if ever again. If you pass, you are done with it. If you don't pass it, go to the school again and retake the class, then go in on the following day and write it again.
None of this stuff will hold you back in your career, you now possess a ticket to learn, which you will do when you do your air work and you join a company that will check you out. I have no idea what my mark was when I wrote it (before cell phones... before turbine engines...) and I don't give an RA.
The most important thing is to get the exam out of the way so that life can carry on. Those cram courses will equip you to do that.
If you wait 2 or 3 days, you will have much more trouble writing it. I think you only need 70% to pass and the met used to be the hardest, so you are well-equipped to get 'er done.

I just finished writing the INRAT , did ok but found met challenging. I found that i was not confident on studying on my own and did not understand a few things. I found . very expensive. I was going to take
Aerocourse, I have many friends that took the coarse and is great to fill in A B C or D. I was referred to a training facility at the north end of YYZ Horizon Aviation they did IFR coarse that went into depth. i came out actually understanding allot more. They were even cheaper than AC and Instructor was great. They even have a real 737 800sim. The manuals i used were AIM , Instrument Procedure Manual, Air Command Weather Manual
and coarse lit.

Didn't do the aerocourse, just the practice exam question... like someone else said, study the concepts of the questions and you'll do fine! (I got an 86%)
