Block Time 150
What would be a fair rental price for a nice 150 in 10-50 hour blocks? Wet or dry?

And your gas would run about 25-30$ per hour?CpnCrunch wrote:I'm paying $60 per hobbs hr, dry, in 10hr blocks.

Crunch, do you fly an hour here and there, or do you bugger off with it for 10 hours at a go?

Re: Block Time 150
I fly here and there and just pay him for another 10 hours when I've almost used it up. Avgas is about $34/hr for me right now, but will presumably be cheaper soon. Mogas would be cheaper still, but the owner doesn't want to use it...after seeing how bad the 150 is for carb ice even running on avgas, I tend to agree with him.

Where do you guys go to find block time? I'm still trying to figure some stuff out.

Does anyone know where you can get block time on an IFR airfcraft. I was hoping for a multi but that would depend on the cost.
Thanks
Thanks

Sorry, I meant to reply to this but forgot. I think it's mostly a question of convincing an owner that you're a safe and trustworthy pilot. Unfortunately that isn't going to be easy if you're a newbie PPL.boogs82 wrote:Where do you guys go to find block time? I'm still trying to figure some stuff out.
The 150 I fly belongs to a friend, so although I'm a relatively low time PPL he knew he could trust me (and I haven't wrecked his plane yet!) There's one other person flying his plane...a retired air traffic controller who happened to see the plane at the airport, thought it looked like a nice plane, and just contacted the owner. Also a flight instructor is going to be buying some block time on it.
I would be hesitant myself about renting out a plane to random people.
