Folks;
=======================================
With the assumptions that:
*The INRAT is completed.
*The Multi engine rating acquired.
*No weather delay.
*Instructors available.
*A multi engine aircraft available.
*Fly twice a day (simulation + actual)
*I have mediocre intelligence.
======================================
How long will it usually take to get the Group 1 IFR rating?
What are things to watch out/pit falls/gotchas for the group 1 IFR training?
Thank You

Re: The Group 1 IFR training duration
You need 40 hours instrument time. Take 40 - what you have and then divide that by the number of hours you plan to fly per day. Add a day off every 3-4 days to rest, and 2 days at the end to review and then do the flight test.

Are you doing it through a curriculum? It can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks depending on how many hours you need and how many approaches the instructor thinks you need to practice. Mine took about 8 sims and 4 flights, or something like that. I needed a lot of instrument hours. I also borrowed an old non-certified/outdated sim and practiced without logging any hours.
