Sault or Confed Comparison
So Sault has its problems these days apparently (according to current and former students). Many are dropping out and finishing their studies at other colleges or privately.
Many have informed me to steer clear of the program and go elsewhere, a place that I always get recommended to is Confederation College. You don't get your MIFR there, but many
do it at Cornwall after. Plus apparently the education and training is much better over there as well as the fail rate is much lower at Confed.
So now I ask the wonderful people of Avcanada...Sault or Confed?

Search previous threads on here. Then ask any specific questions you may have. Both have their flaws.

If the fail rate is so low that could indicate the standards aren't that high.
My image of Cornwall also is that of pay your money get your license rubber stamped. Perhaps I'm wrong.
What's your end goal in your career? If it's Air Canada then Sault would be the one to pick of these choices.

Re: Sault or Confed Comparison
At the end of either program, you have a CPL and no experience. Another month to get a MIFR at Cornwall, you're still in the industry years sooner if you go via confed. 4 years from now, do you want to be a 200 hour wonder, or a 1500 hour wonder?

Re: Sault or Confed Comparison
I graduated confed a few years back. Many of my classmates are flying porter, jazz, perimeter or northern regionals. Sault has a problem of taking more than they can chew. And as far as taking a month to get MIFR after grad? try like two weeks max at cornwall. Many friends graduated in late april, had MIFR second week of may and went off for jobs. Confed would be best if youre looking to fly the quickest. And yes, they have high standards. started with 75 in my first year and dropped down to 30 for grad. any questions? pm me. cheers
