Instructing in the GTA

Post by hertford »

Hi,

I'm looking to do my instructor rating around the GTA; no real preference where except to gain employment afterwards.

I was considering spectrum airways out near burlington simply because they posted a job opening here on the employment section.

any tips or suggestions would be really appreciated.

Thanks,

Burlington is OK, but I'd suggest Brampton (yes, I do work there). There are some very good class one's, they have good maitainence, are very busy, and it's a great place to work after. Also, the pay is better. I've worked both places, so if you'd like details PM me.

If you want north of Toronto...try BPflight Training in Midland.

How can you not consider Toronto Airways/Canadian Flight Academy with their great new pay scale?? Go where they pay the most.

16+ 10 = 26 and the user pays 75

Everywhere else you earn 24 +/- and the user pays 40.

Wonder where you'll be getting "paid" the most.

Your instructor rating will also cost an extra $3500

Thanks for the info,

I guess what I'm really trying to find out is which school would have the best combination of being busy, as in a good student base and also has a good working atmosphere.

As well which of these schools will be facing a dilemma come September when the new regulations take effect thanks to the government of Ontario

How's Island Air or the schools out in Oshawa?

Go to Toronto Airways. It may cost a little more (not $3500!), but you will be paid well and you will fly a lot.

I would also suggest Toronto Airways, they pay well and you will do lots of flying.

As far as which schools will be effected by the new legislation....they all are if they are going to offer vocational training (commercial & instructor ratings)
