Im looking at the study and reference for the IATRA exam and its pretty vague in terms of what to study. The recommended study material is also quite vague.. they list sources for the human factors/ cars ..however they list nothing for the system oriented study material.
I've been using Lomardo's Advanced systems manual book.. however, it seems like there is a wide variety of material there..although this is nice to know.. I'd like to try and focus my studying a little more to the more need to know information. For example, landing gear along cover a half dozen different types of systems, types of shimmy dampeners, nose steering mechanisms.. and its getting a little frustrating. The same thing goes for turbine engines.. I think its good to have a great understanding of systems etc. but I'd like to get this exam done ASAP and do the extra reading at my own pace.. and would rather make some headway as opposed to confusing myself with a million different systems and system types not even tested.
What do you think is a good source to use for this exam? Any hints on the type of questions asked? Are the questions more general like How is the gear raised and/ lowered? or are things a little more complex? Does the good ol FGU suffice for this exam?
How difficult is this exam?
What says you?
Thanks in advance!!
Cheers!!
