Did he say what you had to do in those five hours?

From what I got out of the conversation he says the sim time doesn't count and I need a total of 20 hours in the plane. Every one I've talked to and everything I've read says otherwise.

Should I talk to a cfi at another school? Or maybe call transport up to see if he is out to lunch on this?

Sorry he said do some solo or do some instrument. So clearly I've met the requirement there.

Tc probably won't do much to help, though the CFI you're talking to is not correct. You'll need to find another authorized person. Technically speaking you need to have a recommendation that you've met the requirements from an instructor who did your training (part of the application form) so you need to have that in hand when you go to the different AP for a sign off.

If you're in the Calgary area I'll gladly help you with that.

My instructor told me to go somewhere else to get it signed off too. Thought I'd post here just in case I was wrong. Didn't want to look foolish.

And ya I've got the application filled out and signed. Went in to get it done this morning and got sent away. Kind of annoying when all the flight schools are 40 minutes away.

Still couldn't hurt to call up TC and complain.

If I remember correctly, if an authorized person denies a rating or license, he/she must inform Transport within some amount of time and I think they follow up. Either way find someone else to sign it off, go to Transport and have them sign it off or call and find out what the heck.
