Last I heard it was for YYZ & YUL. Either base is a good bet for getting a block quickly as there is a lot of hiring for these two bases. I've heard of some holding a good block within a month of two of being cut loose. Good luck. Where are you interviewing?
We only hire for the RJ or the Dash 8. On your firsy day or two of ground school the openings will be made known and all the names of your classmates will be put into a hat and drawn for your seniorty#, at which time you will choose your equip. type.

According to a friend of mine who is in the Oct 2nd GS, there are vacancies in YVR, YYC, YYZ and YUL. He said that on the first day the facilitator handed out Dash-8 manuals to everyone. That doesn't mean anything cause they did that at my GS and 8 out of 10 got the RJ.
The latest "mini-bid" that has came out showed mostly Dash postions. There are quite a few guys on the RJ that are just waiting to be released and go to AC so that should open up a bunch of seats in the jet. I wouldn't be to worried about the type you fly. The pay is all the same and some of the Dash overnights are FAR better than the RJ ones (at least in the West. Nothing beats YLW in the summer!!!!)
Thanks SouthIsland. They mentioned in my interview that there were 4 new hires that got spots on the west coast. It really seems like you're rolling the dice from one groundschool to the next on bases and equipment.
Hey, I have an interview for Jazz too, at the Airway Centre by CYYZ, can anyone tell me if you can park right there, and if not what's the best lot to park in??
