Rouge A321

Post by leftoftrack »

Rumor has it that rouge has just placed an order for 2 A321ceo's for delivery between Q4 2015 and Q2 2016. Does this mean that when Main line goes to boeing rouge will stay Airbus for their narrow body.

Not a rumour. It was revealed in the year end results. No less than 2 321's at Rouge by the end of 2015. Rouge has the ability to acquire 5-10 more NB's but must come from outside the fleet.

Long term ( starting 10 years out) AC says they would like to see a common fleet with mainline. Near to medium term it will be Airbus.

Mainline will be refleeted first.

It's 5 brand new A321s total, the first 2 being delivered in November 2015. They will mainly be used on the Florida flights.

As Fanblade mentioned the 2 A321's are shown in the Fleet plan in the latest financial results. It also shows 3 more A321's and 4 B767's from outside the mainline fleet by the end of 2016, that's in addition to the 6 B767's being transferred from mainline, quite a bit of growth planned at rouge over the next 2 years.

The mainline fleet shows the addition of 15 B787's and 2 B777's and 6 A320/A321's with 20 EMJ's leaving by the end of 2016. Its great to see some real fleet growth planned after years of stagnation, however, as every pilot knows…"Believe it when you're sitting in it at V1".

Some current mainline 767s still to go to Rouge. Rumor... Looking for more A330s to add to mainline related to European growth and instead of getting more mainline 767s. No facts...just air blowing around! Never believe any of it until you are in the plane and pulling up the gear.
