If you're unionized check with your union. I know acpa has a special rate with the holiday inn by the airport.

Re: YYZ Hotels
Very few have a decent commuter rates any more.
Word on the street is that a lot of the hotels abandoned the sub-$100 rate because of the increase in minimum wage to $15/hr. It apparently doesn't make financial sense to let the rooms out cheep, then pay more to clean them and wash the sheets than before. The yield isn't viable. They would just rather they sit vacant, waiting for a higher rate guest, meanwhile employing fewer staff.

Re: YYZ Hotels
I believe the Best Western Premiere on Carlingview still has an airline rate of around ~$90/night although it’s been the better part of a year since I’ve stayed there.

Re: YYZ Hotels
Thanks for the replies. I did phone around the usual hotels, and correct no commuter rates.
Spoke with some contract simulator instructors and best they were doing around $140.
I got a regular a rate at the Carling View for $134 plus taxes, so around $150.
Actually stayed there a few times. Coffee and muffins etc in the lobby for breakfast. Rooms clean and comfortable.
Better than a crash pad bunk.
Great location for Arizona’s. Aviation World, Threshold Aviation etc
Unless a better deal appears I will just plan on the Carlingview
